Baked Char Siu Bao (BBQ Pork Bun) [Recipe]

I’m still trying to perfect this bao (bun) recipe as every time I make it, it turns too brown at the bottom. I’ve tried lowering the heat, reduce the time and both but I still end up with a slightly darker, more crispy bottom than I’d like it to be. Anyways, if you try it, let me know how it turned out. Lasagna Battle: Take 1

lasagna_inside.jpg

In preparation for Valentine’s Day dinner (we decided to eat at home this year), I’m trying to make a yummy lasagna for Al. My brother loves lasagna but my mom never makes it at home. The only time we get it is when we have dinner at my Aunt Kit’s place because it’s always part of the Christmas menu. Last year, however, we didn’t go to her place for Christmas dinner so Dave was starved of his favourite pasta dish.

Anyways, I didn’t expect to get the barista job so quickly so instead of having all day today to make the sauce, I had to go in for training. Thank god lasagna is a lovely make ahead dish, so I did all the work for it on Saturday night. Read More

Office Gossips

Ok the title might be a bit misleading. It should probably say gossiping at the office. Oh wait, it’s not really gossips either, it’s more like chatting with a few friends about…everything that you don’t think would come up in an office environment.

Since last week, MK, Al, WuWu and I have been doing conference chatting on MSN. Since all of us have access and instead of relaying information, it’s much faster this way. I think it all started when we were talking about my blog post on bra shopping. From there we moved on to breasts, girls, weddings, education, employment, investments, money…etc. The reoccurring theme seems to be about WuWu’s hair (or lack of) since it keeps popping up in every topic we talked about. It’s kind of nice to have chats like this. It really lets me get to know the person better through learning about their views on things. However, I don’t think chats like this can happen IRL, at least not with these guys, as they might feel awkward talking about stuff like that with a female; whereas online, at least they don’t have to see my reaction.

Lately there’ve been a lot of stuff on my mind. Work have picked up also with up coming conferences that needs a lot of ironing. Hopefully after March things will quiet down again. Also I’m very excited since February’s almost here! Chinese New Year + Valentine’s Day + Birthday all in one month!

My celebrity look alike?

So I found this site called MyHeritage through Facebook and thought I’d give it a try.

According to them I’m 96% like Sammi Cheung. I think it’s from the way face was constructed on the photo. I don’t get how I look even remotely close to Lucy Liu. ~>___<~ Read More
