Balsamic Marinated Rosemary Steak [Recipe]

steak_veggies.jpg
Alright last time I showed the picture of the steak I made for the twins. Here’s the recipe, from Martha Stewart’s Everyday Food magazine, with some of my own tips added. It’s super easy to make especially if you have those electric grills at home.

Steaks at room tempture (I don’t think we can skip this one)
1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
2 tbsp brown sugar
2 tsp dried rosemary
4-6 cloves of garlic (I usually use more since we all love garlic)
salt
pepper

In a shallow dish or a plastic bag, mix the vinegar, brown sugar and garlic together. Crush the rosemary before adding them in for more flavour. Season with salt and pepper.

Add in the steaks and make sure it’s coated. Leave at room temperature for about 15 mins (I usually leave it in longer so it soaks up more juice) or keep it in the fridge to marinate longer.

Grease the grill with some oil and slap the steaks on there. I use the electric grill so I grill both sides at once. Takes about 3-4 mins for medium rare (pink inside). Timing really depends on the thickness of the steak so cook to the way you like it.

The only problem I have with this that the marinate with all the garlics and rosemary might stick to the grill alot so make sure it’s greased for easier cleanup. You might want to shake off some of the garlic and rosemary before you cook it.

Let me know if you guys tried it and how it turned out.

PS: Balsamic vinegar is the next word for the food game. (Last word was Lamb by MM.) Keep it going guys.
