My Glasses & other pictures as promised!
Alright here is the picture of my glasses as promised. And here’s a photo of the side with the little sparkle thingie I was talking about in the earlier post.
I really like these glasses. It feels kind of heavy thought (heavy duty?!).
On Saturday I had brunch with my cousin, Kally, who came back to Vancouver from Calgary to celebrate Chinese New Year. We went to Western Lake on Victoria Drive with grandma, grandpa, my dad, Al and Dave. It was only supposed to be just four of us but because I want to break the engagement news to my grandparents, I’ve asked them to join us also. The dim sum at Western Lake is pretty good and there’s always a line up at the busy 11-1pm time slot even if you call to reserve a table. Here is a picture of the dim sum:
Let’s see what we have here: In the middle we have the scallops dumplings. Next to it to the left is the rice rolls with scallions and dried shrimps. The hot pot contains braised beef with rice rolls at the bottom to soak up the sauce. Near the middle, upper part of the picture (above the scallops dumplings) you can see 2 steamers of baos (buns), one of them is the char siu bao (bbq pork bun) and the other is chicken steamed bun. The steamer next to it is the har gao (shrimp dumplings). To the right of the scallops dumplings we have beef tendon (I have no idea what sauce that is) and above it is the chicken feet and the dessert, lychee jelly. Below you can see another type of dumpling, I forgot the name though. It’s some sort of pork dumpling >__<
Ok enough of the dim sum. Here’s a photo of Kally and Ryan.
We started the dim sum at 10am so we’re not exactly very awake at that time on a Saturday…
Al and I also went to Aberdeen Centre alot over the past couple of weeks, to pick out rings and other things. Because of Chinese New Year, they have set up a display for the holiday. It’s nothing like the ones in Hong Kong but at least it gives a festive mood.
And how can I resist shopping? I bought this pair of key chains at one of the shops in Aberdeen Centre. Al has the boy and I have the girl. It only cost me $6 + tax for both! Check out the packaging that they came with.

Nice glasses and key chain!!
