D&D Characters with Lego

About a month ago I started playing Dungeons & Dragons (not the online but the pen and paper version!) on Sundays. I’m starting to get the hang of it but at times I wish it was all electronic or at least more like those MMORPGs where everything is pretty much done for me (ie. character creations). I do really like the narrative part of the game and it’s a lot more interactive with other players.

The past two Sundays we had taken a break from D&D and since I’m getting tired of using my Winnie the Pooh (with a palm tree costume…) as my character’s “‘representative”, Al and I decided that we should use Lego people! We dug up his old Lego pieces and tried to create  characters to represent everyone. Here are some pictures below. Can you tell who they are (or at least what class)?

Battle formation! LOL

Battle formation! Oops, just noticed someone's face got blocked by a staff! Sorry! LOL

[I'll give a prize to those that can guess who each of the Lego character represents! ]

Meet My Milks

milks_front1

Just a quick post to introduce my Milks to you all. These little guys keep me company at work. My favourite so far is Latte and Soya. And in case you’re wondering, that is one of those Dummies book I’m using to elevate my monitor. I think it’s Publisher for Dummies or something like that.

My coworkers love this paper snow globe that I got for Christmas. The best part is I don’t even need to do the shaking to get the snow moving.

Clay Craft – Project 1: Chinese Donut & Soy Milk

For the past month Al and I have been attending classes on Saturdays to learn how to make interesting crafts out of clay. Our first project is a Chinese donut and soy milk stand (found in places like Hong Kong and China). Each week we’d learn how to make individual items for the stand and last Saturday we finally finished everything and assembled it all together. Here are some pictures of our finished project:

Almost everything in this project were made by ourselves using clay and paper (for the bags). We both had a lot of fun learning how to make it and were so happy to be able to finish our first project. I’ve taken pictures of Al’s and mine. You can see more photos from my Picasa Albums.

A little note on the course. I first found out about it during Chinese New Year in 2008. The instructor had a booth at Aberdeen Centre during the New Year Festivals. When I saw them again this year I decided to take the course because I want to learn how they make such detailed food stands and flowers. Al and I will be starting our next course in the coming week. I’ll post pictures of project 2 once it’s finished.
